According to 2ch, the best possible outcome after that godsmackingly ridiculous setup in ep3:
ep1: General introductory storyline
ep2: common storyline for Akira and Kazuha
ep3,4: Kazuha route, followed by a reset。
ep5,6: continue from ep2, Akira route followed by a reset
ep7: shared storyline for Sora and Nao arc
ep8,9: Nao route, followed by another reset
ep10, 11, 12: Sora arc

BD vol1:ep1~4 (Kazuha's arc)
vol2:ep1, 2, 5, 6 (Akira's arc)
vol3:1, 7, 8, 9 (Nao's arc)
vol4:ep1, 7, 10, 11, 12 (Sora!!!!)
It's still a theory, waiting to be confirmed after ep4, but this is the best possible outcome if you don't want Haru to be another Makoto.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai ep2

With the initial premise established, the 2nd season is crucial in keeping the boat afloat. OreImo did just that, not only expanding the idea of being a closet otaku, but also introduce a couple new interesting characters to the cast.

The world expands from Kirino's bedroom into the wider community. The holy place, akihabara, is once again revisited. If you still think that this one will end up to be an incest you really need to check your head. The show deals more about accepting her persona, the fact that she's a closet otaku, and thus building relationship with people of similar interests.

I especially love the banter between two people with clashing love for different anime series. It just hits right at home for me who likes to read the community's back and forth on the internet. Her passion for her hobby really shine through in this episode, and at the same time it celebrates the culture.

I'll say it now, I don't like how the OP animation is handled. While accompanied by a great song from kz, the storyboard and camera works is atrocious. If you feel durarara op2 handled in a way inferior to op1, take that difference, times by 10, and you get the discrepancy between the music and the animation in the oreimo op.

That aside, the episode is an enjoying watch. I like the way the show is going, and the latest episode just place it firmly on my must-watch list for this season.

(guess I'll be generous for the rating for once, even though it's quite early in the series..)

Loving the 2nd OP from Amagami. It's godly compare with the totally pathetic OP1. Had been looping the song for a while now :D

Fall Season ep1 summary + Links

So Let's do a summary of all the ep1 from the fall season, at least the ones that I'd seen so far. Will be updated after I 'd seen more shows.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume
- Very light comedy. Think Keroro without the gundam stuff and a lot cuter.
Yosuga no Sora - adapted from one legendary Imouto eroge. Contains wincest. I fear that the studio will fked this one up badly by making it into anther generic ecchi/fanservice/(harem?) series.
Star Driver - BONES mecha production. Great animation, wonky mecha design, nudity, and I still have no idea how this one will turn out.
Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls - Another ecchi work from ARMS, awesome visual design, not much else at the moment.
Bakuman - I like the mangaka story, but JC would most likely turn it into slice-of-life.
Panty &Stocking with Garterbelt - eccentric, different, bold, pushing the boundaries from all angle. It's a give or take. Has to have tolerance to a different type of humour to fully enjoy this one.
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai - My favourite one so far. This series tells a story about an atypical female otaku from the viewpoint of her brother. It apparently has a more realistic approach to the brother-sister relationship within the family.

Both sequels that I'd seen so far, Sora no Otoshimono Forte and Arakawa Under the BridgexBridge, manage to recapture the tone from their respective first seasons. If you are a fan of the first season, there's no reason to miss out on the second one.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume ep1

A fun show about a squid girl trying to invade the human race but got dominated instead. Ika Musume is light, fun, cute, and full of its charms.
A lot of the jokes are on the topic about the attributes of squid itself, while some slight wordplays on "Ika" and "Geso" sprinkled throughout the conversation.
It's not as chaotic as Mitsudomoe from last season, but the fun of seeing innocent "kid" playing around is still there. Somehow I got a feeling that it's similar to Yotsuba, but don't quote me on that.

Yosuga no Sora ep1

I just realised that I'm a total sucker for simple yet elegant piano score.
Yosuga no Sora felt like a Visual Novel, even better, one that I felt like will leave everlasting sentimental memories long after you finish the game. The music is awesome, the OP is nice, the "ED" at the 20min mark is excellent. Even though a shitty studio is in charge of this adaption, which results in major deficiency in the visual department, I regained that sense of feeling when I was playing Irisu Syndrome; that is, a slight tinge of sadness, just like snowflakes falling.

I want to say good things about this, however, sadly the episode is not to be. I'm willing to overlook the fact that all female characters blush too easily, the pacing is slightly off, and the colour is washed out, had it not be the bad conclusion to the 25min video.
The "ED" is excellent, I stress again. It's one of those that you associate with at the end of an emotional arc in a VN. Follow on from that unexpected turn of event at the end of the episode, it provides a nice final touch. It almost gave me goosebumps all over the body like the ones I had in the HotD ep1 and QB ep1. Again, great ED in the ep1 is always the best way to convince me to follow the series even when the performance during the episode is slightly unsatisfactory.
Which is why I was so utterly disappointed when the true ED is revealed at the end. Not only does it totally takes out the mood, it just shows indications that the studio is willing to treat this one as ecchi/fanservice/(harem?) instead of a serious VN-isk love story. I was willing to think the chibi sequence is just another way to supplement the character developments, just like the TIPS in the higurashi visual novels.

There are some unexpected nudity, but nudity does not equal fanservice necessarily, especially with the gentle tone the show has been going for. However, with the terrible ED I am beginning to think otherwise....

Without the horrible ED, it's easily 4/5.
Now it's just 2.5/5

Funny how a bad insert of song kills the mood and impression so easily.

Star Driver ep1

Another BONE original anime series, this time it's mecha. Is it good enough for a non-mecha fan like me to follow on? not quite sure yet.

The animation quality is good, the movements are all very smooth and fluid. The character design is a bit iffy but that's just minor complaints. The mecha design is meh though. There are naked female crotch shots and frontal female nudity scenes~

The story is alright at the moment. There's this embarrassing cult going on that does the hand gesture, that's slightly altered from the famous (ゝω・)★ キラ~☆,  as a greeting between members. Not much info has been revealed yet. Quite a lot of characters had been introduced though.

Once again, wtf is with that title for the main character!? I thought this one is suppose to be serious? who the fk call themselves that!? Find it out yourself

Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge ep1

It's always nice to see old friends back at the reunion. The first episode of AUBB did just that, reintroduce all of the familiar faces while providing more laughter to the audience. I felt like I'm watching the back half of the 2 season instead of season 2.

The overall quality had noticeably gone up a notch compare with the last one. More variety of the visual style are employed, and more high energy shots can be found in this episode.

The OP still feels weird.........I'll let it slowly grow on me like last time then.

It's hard to rate a sequel of a skit comedy show since it's just "more of the same old good jokes". Therefore I'll just repeats what I'd said earlier. It felt like the 3 month gap is non-existence and easy to follow on in terms of character and tone, which is a good thing.

Bakuman ep1

Ah....JC....

The story is quite good, considering it felt like a pseudo-autobiography from the creator duo. Some insight is given into the industry (though I kind of figured it out a couple of years back when one of my followed manga got cut off).

JC manage to stuffed up the visual. Not saying it's BAAAAAAAAAD, just BAAAD, especially when you had the high tier adaption of Death Note from Madhouse before as a prime example. Even then, some of the still shots are still BAAAD. I think I'm a bit picky on this show.

The fake OP is purely awesome. The real OP felt like a total letdown.
Speaking of the fake OP, it's drawn by the writer, Tsugumi Ohba, which is quite funny in fact.

The emotional segments are good, nice to see that JC did not fucked up the storytelling. I'm quite interested to see how the story will go, but I figure it's probably better to just read the manga myself. The music and the voice actors did not enhance my experience with the story whatsoever, and the visual is BAAAD(go blame JC for this one). The anime has done its job, it has made me interested in the IP already.

Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai ep1

So yeah, one show that I was "hyped" about because it's an adaption from a work which a famous vocaloid producer is the illustrator. I know it has nothing to do with the potential quality of the show, but who cares~ I watch BRS because of one little song as well.

OreImo (did you expect me not to use an abbreviation for the title?) literally translates to "my sister cannot be this cute". A younger sister that's into the otaku culture (anime and eroge), while trying to hide it away from other people. While it can be said to be one of otaku's fantasy, the dynamics between the main characters are something that I actually haven't seen before. Count me being weird, but I quite like the change of a younger sister character that's not "onii-chan" all the time. Someone that's more rebellious, and dare I say, feels a lot more normal. I can't really tell since I don't have a younger sister myself.

The art is solid, however I'm still having issues with the colour choice for Kirino. Both the skin colour and the hair just felt a bit off for some reason. Both looking to be having too much yellow in their tone, especially when compared to the Light Novel illustration that A CERTAIN FAMOUS VOCALOID PRODUCER drew. Otherwise, it's quite decent. Haven't yet seen any bad linearts.

The music is quite relaxing, fitting to a light series like this one. and also, OMG THEY HIRED KZ TO DO THE OP!!!! <3 <3 <3

There are a lot of the otaku references. If you had been into the eroge scene for a while, you can spot some of the more famous titles when Kirino brought out her collections. I don't count them as blatant advertisement, but more of building a closer connection to the otaku audience by presenting titles they are previously familiar with.

Overall, a decent premier. I'm not too sure which direction this series will go, but I'm quite satisfied with what they gave us in the first episode.

The Legend of Legendary Hero ep14

I'm really getting sick of writing episodic reviews now......

the contrast between the two major factions are explored here, the battle scene is nice, and seems like our benevolent king is starting to get corrupted.

won't bother doing another rating, just saying that the presentation is steady, on par with other normal episodes. No big emotional scene here.
